We were proud to support this year's Closing Session Days of the Hague Young Bar Association as the event's main sponsor.
Held on 18 and 19 June in The Hague, this year's edition centred around a timely question:
"Masters on the Malieveld – How Do We Protect the Rule of Law?"
It is a question that feels increasingly relevant.
The rule of law depends on strong institutions, but also on the people who uphold them every day. Lawyers play a vital role in that system: applying legal judgment, defending rights, holding power to account, and helping ensure that justice is more than a principle—it is something people can rely on.
Throughout the two-day programme, members of the Hague Bar came together to reflect on what that responsibility means today. The event opened with the Closing Session Address at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, delivered by former Dean of the Hague Bar, David de Knijff, who explored the role of the legal profession and the importance of culture and literature in sustaining democratic values.
The programme continued with the traditional Dean's Concert before concluding with the Closing Session Gala at the ADO Den Haag Stadium, where members of the legal community gathered to continue the conversations and strengthen the connections that underpin the profession.
