Legal teams are not short of access to AI. They are short of AI that fits inside the way legal work is organised: around matters, clients, obligations, and documents that carry professional weight. When those things are missing, the tool stays in the demo phase.
The collaboration between Saga and Epona addresses the most basic friction point first: getting documents from Epona 365 into Saga without pulling them onto a local drive and re-uploading them by hand. No more files sitting on laptops with no audit trail. Removing these pain points is frequently the gap between a tool people try once and a tool that becomes part of a daily practice.
Legal teams are moving toward structured workflows where outputs can be traced, repeated, and defended. A chat experience has its place, but legal work asks for more: citations that link back to the source document, drafting that lands in Word with track changes, prompt libraries that encode the firm's standards rather than starting from scratch every time. And finally, the possibility to upload your draft back to Epona directly from Saga.
Next to both-way document upload, Saga and Epona are MCP-ready. That means that users can directly ask questions about their DMS in Saga, and Saga surfaces the right cases and/or documents. We are currently testing the performance of this MCP server functionality, and we believe that this will be a game changer for enterprise search applications.
